Event: Slow Vision

SLOW VISION is 1. part of the art & science project "Øyet Som Ser" (norwegian) which we have translated to "The Communicating Eye". The project is supported by the national education program "The Cultural Schoolbag" and will last for about 4 years, tour included.

First of all SLOW VISION is an international pinhole-exhibition, opening on WPPD/Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day, the 25th of April 2004. Exhibiting are: António Vieira, Dan McCormack, Valerie Burke, Bethany de Forest, Jan Kapoor, Piotr Zastrozny, Joaquin Casado, Trond Kjetil Holst, Marian Roth, René Michael Samuelsen, Chris Peregoy, Jean-Pierre Huet, Edward Levinson, and Henrieke I. Strecker. The exhibition is curated by Alf Christian Samuelsen and Arnfinn Tommy Jenssen.

The SLOW VISION event also contains a pinhole workshop
22.04.04 - 23.04.04 and a seminar 24.04.04 - 25.04.04.

The seminar subjects are :

The chromatology of Johann von Wolfgang Goethe

Light and shadow

Visual Communication


Lecturers :

Prof. in physics Torger Holtsmark and Jan Henrik Wold, N

Scientist/artist Bob Miller, USA

Prof. in visual communication Bent Fausing, Denmark


Responsible for the workshop is Trond Kjetil Holst, Norway and Bob Miller. By the way - have you seen Bob Millers "Light Walk" on his web site. Don't forget.

Camera Obscura.
These days we are building an outdoor Camera Obscura for the SLOW VISION event. The camera takes about 4-6 people.

At the exhibition we also intend to present all kinds of pinhole cameras, both professional and cameras made by kids in primary school.
